–As Council Chairman Lauds Contractors On Quality And Progress Of Work At Project Sites
As the construction of Emohua local government healthcare centre and staff canteen gets into their finishing stages, chairman of the local government area, Dr. Chidi Lloyd has commended the contractors handling the projects for the progress of work and the quality of material used at the project sites.
He said his administration is not only embarking on critical infrastructural projects that will reposition the local government area but also prioritizes timely and quality project implementation.
The council chairman made the commendation when he embarked on an unscheduled visit to some of the infrastructural projects being executed by his administration within the local government council secretariat on Tuesday.
Reiterating his administration’s commitment to making Emohua local government council a center of attraction, Dr. Lloyd maintained that the local government healthcare centre conceptualized by his administration is expected to be one of the best primary healthcare centre in the South-South region of Nigeria.
He charged the contactor handling the healthcare centre to intensify effort to deliver the project before the end of February, stressing that the council had already agreed to commission the project in the last weekend of February 2022.
Dr. Lloyd disclosed that the council staff canteen which will be completed and put to use before his administration’s one year anniversary in June, will be contracted to a specialist in Rivers and other African dishes, to consistently provide quality and affordable food for staff and visitors in the council secretariat, adding that the cafeteria is also expected to attract those seeking for good food from within and outside Emohua local government area to the council secretariat.
At the site of the long abandoned office complex recently approved for completion by the local government, Dr. Lloyd expressed satisfaction with the progress of work at the site and urged the contractor to maintain the pace of work, with a view to completing the project within the stipulated time and in line with specifications.
Other projects inspected includes the council chapel and marriage registry building, the council legislative council complex, the 500 seater pavilion and Chief Chukwuemeka Woke ICT center, all situated within the local government council secretariat.
